Home During Quarantine

Well this is weird, isn’t it? How long have you been in your home? We’ve been home since pretty much the whole month of March, give or take a week. It’s strange, huh? Texas is just beginning to open up a few things more and more, so we’re (hopefully) seeing a beginning of a little more normalcy soon.

Not a lot has changed on the surface for our family. I’m a stay-at-home mom these days and my husband, Matt, owns a coffee shop in California, so he works from home. The kids and I play around the house: baking, learning, reading or watching cartoons, imagining, and we’ve recently added gardening to the list. Playdates and local trips to explore used to break up our days, but now we’re learning to be creative and find connection otherwise.

There’s a lot of unknowns. You can see it everywhere on the news or on social media. I won’t mention all of the ways things are crumbling around us. You already know. Every person knows. We’re feeling it every day and no one is immune to the changes/havoc CO-VID19 is leaving in its wake. My husband and I are both small business owners, which is so tough right now. But things keep floating along and we are so thankful for each good day.

I can’t forget the many miracles too. So many have joined with helping their neighbor. There’s solidarity, generosity and unification happening everywhere. There’s joy in the little moments. Like going grocery shopping! I’ve tried so many new things: growing a vegetable garden, homeschooling, baking bread, and ROLLERSKATING (which I’m extra stoked about).

A couple of weeks ago we snapped these photos in our bedroom.

The kids have no idea what’s really going on– what’s at stake in our world. And it’s so awesome. They just have fun for a living. Playing always. Teaching us that that’s our life right now: finding joy in the moment. It’s easy with eyes like a child.

Praying for you and your families as you navigate this weird time. Longing to photograph you and your weddings, loved ones, and milestones.

See you soon!

xo,

Sabrina

We enjoyed having you at our wedding and as our photographer. You made us feel so comfortable in a chaotic environment. We are so excited to re-live everything through every wonderful moment that you captured. It means so much to us.
