Why Elopements?
Take it from me, sis. I've been doing weddings a LONG time. I've seen fun, wild weddings, stressed brides and chill ones, and weddings where there are beautiful details dripping from every corner. I've been so blessed to have really just awesome clients over the years. But the very best weddings? They were tiny.
They were intimate, chill gatherings full of beauty and heart.
Eloping doesn't mean what it did 20 years ago...
Running off in secret to elope has some, well, negative connotations. And while that may be the case for some, elopements aren't always a sneaky espionage plan to say 'I do'. Instead they are an escape from the obligations, 'musts' and culture of needing to include everyone, everything, every last dollar to your name. Nah, let's do something else.
01. PICK YOUR LOCATION
Unlike a monster wedding, you don't always need a venue. A best friend's backyard or a beautiful beach getaway makes for the perfect spot to say your vows. Since you're not spending extra on venue fees, you can finally consider a destination. Maybe just get married, and then stay for the honeymoon!
02. PICK YOUR PALS
Maybe family life is complicated or you want something super small? Just you and your love and the minister. How about a getaway with just your best friends to tie the knot? Maybe it's an intimate gathering of 50 top-shelf family and friends. YOU PICK. No unwanted guests or obligation neighbor's sisters invited.
03. PICK YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
Hint: it's me. I love the small, intimate gatherings and the authentic moments. I am HERE FOR IT.
04. MAKE IT DREAMY
Since you're saving all that money on venues, rentals, etc., you can spend money on the things that really bring life and value to your day. Flowers? A beautiful meal together? Maybe its a killer wedding dress! You do you, boo.
HAVE A PARTY.
INVITE YOUR BEST FRIENDS AND CLOSEST FAM.
MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL, INTENTIONAL, INTIMATE, AND MEANINGFUL.
SPEND LESS TIME AND MONEY ON STUFF,
and more on what matters.
And yes, of course, there is always that option to run away together.. I don't hate that either. 😉
